Printed codes never stop working

The whole point of a code on a menu or a van is that it outlives the decision to print it. Here’s what we commit to in writing.

Static codes: A downloaded static code encodes your URL directly. It works forever, with or without an account, and we cannot switch it off.
If your plan lapses: Dynamic codes keep resolving for 90 days after a failed payment, so a card problem never takes a printed code down.
Your data, exportable: Codes, destinations and scan history export to CSV any time, including after you cancel.
Print-size honesty: The editor refuses to call a code scan-safe if the contrast or quiet zone would fail at the size you picked.

Questions we get every week

Is the free generator really free?

Yes. Pick a type, style it, download the PNG or SVG. No account, no watermark, no expiry. You only pay when you want to change the destination after printing or see scan data.

Do you put your logo on my code?

No. Nothing of ours appears in the modules or on the artwork. On hosted pages a small “Powered by Dotwick” line sits in the footer, and Business plans remove it.

What happens if I cancel?

Static codes keep working forever. Dynamic codes keep resolving for 90 days, and you can export everything to CSV before or after you go.

Do printed codes stop working if the link breaks?

The modules keep scanning. With a dynamic code you repoint the short link and the same printed artwork works again the moment you save.

How small can I print a code?

About 2 cm across for a 29-module code read at arm’s length. The editor shows the minimum print size for your content length as you type.

Will a logo in the middle stop it scanning?

No. Error correction goes to H when you add a logo, and contrast is checked live, so the code still reads with the centre covered.

Can I use my own domain?

On Business, every short link is served from your domain with SSL issued automatically, and hosted pages carry your logo and colours.

Can I generate codes in bulk?
